What an incredible end to the 2022/2023 badminton season for Templemore Badminton Club!
On Sunday, the Grade D team travelled to NUIG Galway to compete for the All Ireland Club Title, and what a performance it was. The team faced some tough competition but came out victorious in the end, bringing the title back to Templemore.
Match Highlights:
- First Round: Templemore faced GLTC Galway, winning 5-2 after some hard-fought games.
- Second Round: GLTC Galway played Baltinglass from Wicklow, with the Wicklow team also securing a 5-2 victory.
- This set the stage for a thrilling final match between Templemore and Baltinglass.
The Final:
- After playing both doubles and singles, the score was tied at 2-2. It all came down to the mixed doubles.
- Templemore won the first mixed doubles match after a nail-biting 3-set game, and then, in another exciting 3-set battle, they secured the win and were crowned Grade D Club Champions!
The final score was 4-2, and Templemore returned home with the cup after an exciting and successful day of badminton.
