Our Templemore Community Development Association

The TCDA is a community group founded to promote, support and seek funding for local community projects. The Association was set up in 2016 following two well attended public meetings where people expressed an interest in volunteering as part of a group to fill the vacuum created following the dissolution of Templemore Town Council in 2014.

Our Sustainable Energy Group

An old Greek proverb states that “Society grows great when old men plant trees in whose shade they shall never sit.”With the current hikes in fossil fuel prices more and more of us are talking about finding sustainable energy choices for our homes and businesses. Many challenges to this action exist .. Who does what and why? What benefit will it have for me? How much will it cost? Is it possible that some people will invest more and benefit less? Perhaps, but that does not have to stop us in our endeavours.

Our Companies & Businesses

Templemore has grown from its traditional farming base to a modern community with a very diverse industrial range. It is a location where business start ups have recently taken place in food production, financial services, information technology, retail, and other necessary services. Probably one of the most significant developments boosting innovation and enterprise in Templemore has been the collocation of the Templemore Library and Enterprise Centre. The idea behind this new facility is that it will suit the needs of entrepreneurs, startups, and remote workers by putting them in one spot with all resources relevant to their success. While the businesses are still in their growth stage and diversification, Templemore sees to it that the community is equipped with the resources, services, and opportunities that strengthen the local economy.

Our Tidy Towns

Templemore Tidy Towns has continued to work unstintingly over several decades to ensure that our town is pleasant for natives and visitors alike. The appearance of our town has greatly improved over the years, thanks to the work of the members giving voluntarily of their time, along with assistance from our council workers, Fás and Tús workers, schools and members of the public.
